Defining Smooth

Smooth hair has always been something I aim to get with my naturally frizzy locks. I remember growing up and clamping my hair for hours on end hoping that will tame it, without actually considering changing my hair care. With party season looming, I have found myself styling my hair a lot more, here's how I achieve my party look.

One of my go-to hairstyles is curls, but it can be a struggle to style when your locks are misbehaving. I started using the Toni & Guy Smooth Definition Mask at least once a week or when my locks could use a little help. It keeps my hair feeling smooth and nourished and really helps when I want to create a polished look. I leave the mask in for around 5 minutes and then wash out.

I then roughly blow dry my hair, until it's around 80% dry and then go in with a barrel brush and work in sections blowdrying my hair until it's smooth. Once my hair is dry, I'll use my trusty GHD Soft Curl Tong (probably the only curling tong I've ever found easy to use!) and curl my hair in sections away from my face. When I reach the front sections of my hair, I curl the pieces inwards (towards my face) - for that slightly more "Hollywood-esque" wave. I like a deep side parting so I'll go ahead and part my hair and finish the look by tucking the smaller side behind my ear - and we're done!

  1. I struggle with frizzy hair too, so I'm tempted to try out that mask!
